Journal ArticleDOI

Efficacy of endomycorrhizal-fungus isolates and inoculum quantities required for growth response*

TL;DR: Large intra-species variation in efficacy occurred in isolates collected from different soils and in those isolated from the same soil, and a significant positive correlation was found between initial G. macrocarpum propagules ml−1 soil and all plant height and weight parameters measured.
Journal ArticleDOI

VA-mycorrhizal fungi and soil characteristics in avocado (Persea americana Mill.) orchard soils.

TL;DR: Numbers of spores were similar in soil from IS and CA but the dominant VAMF species were very different and the most common fungi were Sclerocystis sinuosa and Glomus macrocarpum.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nutrient availability effects on vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal bell pepper (Capsicum annuum) seedlings and transplants

TL;DR: After transplanting, sand-grown seedlings benefited from VAM when 300 mg P/kg or more was added to the soil but peat-grown plants did not, and Fruit development was delayed in all non-VAM plants compared with VAM ones.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biological control of crown gall in rose nursery stock

E. Farkas, +1 more
- 01 Jun 1985 -
TL;DR: Rooted plants and cuttings of Rosa indica were dipped or sprayed with Agrobacterium radiobacter strain 84 and planted in a commercial rose nursery, and Crown gall was controlled effectively and equally well when the protectant inoculum was grown in broth or on agar.
