Impact of PD-1 Blockade on Severity of COVID-19 in Patients with Lung Cancers.
Jia Luo,Hira Rizvi,Jacklynn V. Egger,Isabel Ruth Preeshagul,Jedd D. Wolchok,Jedd D. Wolchok,Matthew D. Hellmann,Matthew D. Hellmann +7 more
TL;DR: In 69 patients with lung cancer who developed COVID-19, disease severity and mortality were high, but prior PD-1 blockade was not a risk factor for poor outcomes in this group, suggesting the therapy should be used when indicated.
Journal ArticleDOI
COVID-19 in patients with lung cancer
Jia Luo,Hira Rizvi,Isabel Ruth Preeshagul,Jacklynn V. Egger,David Hoyos,Chaitanya Bandlamudi,Caroline G. McCarthy,Christina Falcon,Adam J. Schoenfeld,Adam J. Schoenfeld,Kathryn C. Arbour,Kathryn C. Arbour,Jamie E. Chaft,Jamie E. Chaft,R.M. Daly,R.M. Daly,Alexander Drilon,Alexander Drilon,Juliana Eng,A. Iqbal,W.V. Lai,W.V. Lai,Bob T. Li,Bob T. Yu,Marjorie G. Zauderer,Marjorie G. Zauderer,Mark T.A. Donoghue,Marta Łuksza,Benjamin D. Greenbaum,Mark G. Kris,Mark G. Kris,Matthew D. Hellmann,Matthew D. Hellmann +46 more
TL;DR: COVID-19 was severe in patients with lung cancer and accounted for a minority of overall lung cancer-deaths during the pandemic and largely patient-specific features, including smoking status and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease were largely determinants of severity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic and Predictive Impact of Circulating Tumor DNA in Patients with Advanced Cancers Treated with Immune Checkpoint Blockade
Qu Zhang,Jia Luo,Song Wu,Han Si,Chen Gao,Wenjing Xu,Shaad Essa Abdullah,Brandon Higgs,Phillip A. Dennis,Michiel S. van der Heijden,Neil H. Segal,Jamie E. Chaft,Jamie E. Chaft,Todd Hembrough,J. Carl Barrett,Matthew D. Hellmann,Matthew D. Hellmann +16 more
TL;DR: A concept of "molecular response" using ctDNA is proposed, incorporating both pretreatment and on-treatment VAF that predicted long-term survival similarly to initial radiological response, while also permitting early differentiation of responders among patients with initially radiologically stable disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
MET-dependent solid tumours - molecular diagnosis and targeted therapy
Robin Guo,Jia Luo,Jason C. Chang,Natasha Rekhtman,Maria E. Arcila,Alexander Drilon,Alexander Drilon +6 more
TL;DR: The utility of various diagnostic techniques and the roles of different classes of MET-targeted therapies in cancers with MET amplification, mutation and fusion, and MET overexpression are evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI
AMP-Activated Protein Kinase Directly Phosphorylates and Destabilizes Hedgehog Pathway Transcription Factor GLI1 in Medulloblastoma.
Yen-Hsing Li,Jia Luo,Yung-Yi C. Mosley,Victoria Hedrick,Lake N. Paul,Julia Chang,GuangJun Zhang,Yu-Kuo Wang,Max R. Banko,Anne Brunet,Shihuan Kuang,Jen-Leih Wu,Chun Ju Chang,Matthew P. Scott,Jer Yen Yang +14 more
TL;DR: The Hedgehog (Hh) pathway regulates cell differentiation and proliferation during development by controlling the Gli transcription factors and AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) reduces GLI1 protein levels and stability, thus blocking Sonic-hedgehog-induced transcriptional activity.
