The age–velocity dispersion relation of the Galactic discs from LAMOST–Gaia data
Jincheng Yu,Chao Liu +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the age-velocity dispersion relation (AVR) in three dimensions in the solar neighbourhood using 3,564 commonly observed sub-giant/red-giants branch stars selected from LAMOST, which gave the age and radial velocity, and measured the distance and proper motion.
Journal ArticleDOI
The LEGUE disk targets for LAMOST's pilot survey
Li Chen,Jinliang Hou,Jincheng Yu,Chao Liu,Licai Deng,Heidi Jo Newberg,Jeffrey L. Carlin,Fan Yang,Yue-Yang Zhang,Shiyin Shen,Haotong Zhang,Jian-Jun Chen,Yuqin Chen,Norbert Christlieb,Zhanwen Han,Hsu-Tai Lee,Xiaowei Liu,Kaike Pan,Jianrong Shi,Hongchi Wang,Zi Zhu +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the target selection algorithm for the low latitude disk portion of the LAMOST Pilot Survey was described, which aims to test systems in preparation for the lamost spectroscopic survey.
Journal ArticleDOI
The selection of LEGUE disk targets for LAMOST's pilot survey
Li Chen,Jinliang Hou,Jincheng Yu,Chao Liu,Licai Deng,Heidi Jo Newberg,Jeffrey L. Carlin,Fan Yang,Yue-Yang Zhang,Shiyin Shen,Haotong Zhang,Jian-Jun Chen,Yuqing Chen,Norbert Christlieb,Zhanwen Han,Hsu-Tai Lee,Xiaowei Liu,Kaike Pan,Jianrong Shi,Hongchi Wang,Zi Zhu +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the target selection algorithm for the low latitude disk portion of the LAMOST Pilot Survey, which aims to test systems in preparation for the LAMP spectroscopic survey, is described.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stellar Population Properties of Ultracompact Dwarfs in M87: A Mass–Metallicity Correlation Connecting Low-metallicity Globular Clusters and Compact Ellipticals
Hong-Xin Zhang,Hong-Xin Zhang,Thomas H. Puzia,Eric W. Peng,Chengze Liu,Patrick Côté,Laura Ferrarese,Pierre-Alain Duc,Paul Eigenthaler,Sungsoon Lim,Ariane Lançon,Roberto Munoz,Joel Roediger,Rubén Sánchez-Janssen,Matthew A. Taylor,Jincheng Yu +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived stellar population parameters for a representative sample of ultracompact dwarfs and a large sample of massive globular clusters (GCs) with stellar masses in the central galaxy M87 of the Virgo galaxy cluster, based on model fitting to the Lick-index measurements from both the literature and new observations.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Test for Radial Mixing Using Local Star Samples
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the angular momentum of each star about the Galactic center to determine the guiding center radius and to eliminate the effects of epicyclic motion, which would otherwise blur the estimated gradients.
