Boron nitride quantum dots decorated ultrathin porous g-C3N4: Intensified exciton dissociation and charge transfer for promoting visible-light-driven molecular oxygen activation

TL;DR: In this paper, a metal-free heterostructure photocatalyst constructed by boron nitride quantum dots (BNQDs) and ultrathin porous g-C3N4 (UPCN) was successfully developed for overcoming these defects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatial risk assessment and sources identification of heavy metals in surface sediments from the Dongting Lake, Middle China

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper collected surface sediment (0-10 cm) samples from 12 typical sites throughout the Dongting Lake and detected by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer and atomic fluorescence spectrometry for Cr, Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd, As, and Hg, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exploiting extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) controlling strategies for performance enhancement of biological wastewater treatments: An overview.

TL;DR: Special emphasis is laid on EPS controlling strategies which would have the great potential in promoting microbial aggregates performance and in alleviating membrane fouling, including limitation strategies and elevation strategies which have been confirmed to be feasible and promising to enhance system performance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of pH on heavy metal speciation and removal from wastewater using micellar-enhanced ultrafiltration.

TL;DR: PH is a key parameter in metal ion speciation and removal during MEUF and better removal rate of copper and cadmium was achieved at high pH values with SDS feed concentration while the optimal pH range was 3-10 for zinc and lead.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modulation of Bi 2 MoO 6 -Based Materials for Photocatalytic Water Splitting and Environmental Application: a Critical Review

TL;DR: This comprehensive Review is expected to consolidate the existing fundamental theories of photocatalysis and pave a novel avenue to rationally design highly efficient Bi2 MoO6 -based photocatalysts for environmental pollution control and green energy development.
