Journal ArticleDOI
Switching a magnetic vortex by interlayer coupling in epitaxially grown Co/Cu/Py/Cu(001) trilayer disks.
Jie Wu,David Carlton,E Oelker,Jiwoong Park,Eric N. Jin,Elke Arenholz,Andreas Scholl,Chanyong Hwang,Jeffrey Bokor,Z. Q. Qiu +9 more
TL;DR: It is found that while the Py and Co disks form magnetic vortex domains when the interlayer coupling is ferromagnetic, the magnetic Vortex domains of the Pyand Co disks break into anti-parallel aligned multidomains when theinterlayer coupling was antiferromagnetic.

Vibration-assisted electron tunneling in C_{140} single-molecule transistors
Abhay Pasupathy,Jiwoong Park,Connie Chang,Alexander Soldatov,S. Lebedkin,Radoslaw C. Bialczak,Jacob E. Grose,Luke A. K. Donev,James P. Sethna,Daniel C. Ralph,Paul L. McEuen +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured electron tunneling in single-molecule transistors made from C_{140], a molecule with a mass-spring-mass geometry chosen as a model system to study electron-vibration coupling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Determination of spin-polarized quantum well states and spin-split energy dispersions of Co ultrathin films grown on Mo(110)
Jiwoong Park,A. Quesada,Y. Meng,Y. Meng,J. Li,Eric N. Jin,Hyungmok Son,A. Tan,Jie Wu,Jie Wu,Chanyong Hwang,Hengcan Zhao,Andreas K. Schmid,Ziqiang Qiu +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the spin asymmetry of the electron reflectivity from the Co film alternates its sign as a function of both the electron energy and the Co-film thickness as a result of spin-polarized quantum well states.
Journal ArticleDOI
Element-specific study of epitaxial NiO/Ag/CoO/Fe films grown on vicinal Ag(001) using photoemission electron microscopy
Y. Meng,J. Li,A. Tan,Eric N. Jin,J. Son,Jiwoong Park,Andrew Doran,A. T. Young,Andreas Scholl,Elke Arenholz,Jie Wu,Chanyong Hwang,Hengcan Zhao,Ziqiang Qiu +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the in-plane Fe magnetization switches from parallel to perpendicular direction of the atomic steps of the vicinal surface at thinner CoO thickness but remains in its original direction parallel to the steps at thicker coO thickness.

Valley degeneracy breaking by magnetic field in monolayer MoSe 2
David MacNeill,Colin Heikes,Kin Fai Mak,Anderson Zachary,Andor Kormányos,Viktor Zólyomi,Jiwoong Park,Daniel C. Ralph +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a linear splitting of $ −0.22 \frac{\text{meV}}{text{T}}$ between luminescence peak energies in both neutral and charged excitons was observed.
