Journal ArticleDOI
Absolute hardness as a measure of aromaticity
TL;DR: Absolute hardness, which is half the HOMO-LUMO gap in Hartree-Fock or Huckel theory, is shown to be an excellent measure of aromaticity, and a principle of maximum hardness is established.
Journal ArticleDOI
Grignard reagent formation
John F. Garst,Manuel P. Soriaga +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a dianion mechanism through a transition state [RX2−] was proposed for Grignard reactions of certain vinyl and aryl halides, even when intermediate radicals R would isomerize very rapidly.
