Journal ArticleDOI

beta-amyloid fibrils induce tau phosphorylation and loss of microtubule binding.

TL;DR: Amyloid fibril formation alters the phosphorylation state of tau, resulting in the loss of microtubule binding capacity and somatodendritic accumulation, properties also exhibited by tau in the AD brain.
Journal ArticleDOI

In situ localization of apoptosis in the rat ovary during follicular atresia.

TL;DR: This study represents a systematic analysis of apoptosis in the rat ovary at different functional stages and supports the hypothesis that apoptosis is involved in the process of follicular atresia.
Journal ArticleDOI

β‐Amyloid Neurotoxicity in Human Cortical Culture Is Not Mediated by Excitotoxins

TL;DR: The results suggest that β‐amyloid is directly neurotoxic to primary human cortical neurons by a mechanism that does not involve excitatory amino acid receptors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Presence of messenger ribonucleic acid for epidermal growth factor (EGF) and EGF receptor demonstrable in monolayer cell cultures of myometria and leiomyomata.

TL;DR: In this paper, the expression of mRNAs encoding EGF and the EGF receptor in myometrial and leiomyoma cultures suggest that EGF may be involved in the autocrine/paracrine regulation of human uterine leioma and myometrium growth.
