Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Antiretroviral Therapy and Depressive Symptoms on All-Cause Mortality Among HIV-Infected Women
Jonathan V. Todd,Stephen R. Cole,Brian W. Pence,Catherine R. Lesko,Catherine R. Lesko,Peter Bacchetti,Mardge H. Cohen,Daniel J. Feaster,Stephen J. Gange,Michael Griswold,Wendy J. Mack,Anna Rubtsova,Cuiwei Wang,Jeremy Weedon,Kathryn Anastos,Adaora A. Adimora +15 more
TL;DR: A protective effect of ART initiation on mortality, as well as a harmful effect of depressive symptoms, in a cohort of HIV-infected women from the Women's Interagency HIV Study is found.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cumulative Burden of Depression and All-Cause Mortality in Women Living With Human Immunodeficiency Virus
Jon C. Mills,Brian W. Pence,Jonathan V. Todd,Angela M. Bengtson,Tiffany L Breger,Andrew Edmonds,Robert L. Cook,Adebola Adedimeji,Rebecca M. Schwartz,Seble Kassaye,Joel Milam,Jennifer Cocohoba,Mardge H. Cohen,Elizabeth T. Golub,Gretchen N. Neigh,Margaret A. Fischl,Mirjam-Colette Kempf,Adaora A. Adimora +17 more
TL;DR: Increased CDWD elevated mortality rates in a dose-response fashion among women living with HIV, and more frequent monitoring and enhanced depression treatment protocols designed to reduce CDWD may interrupt the accumulation of mortality risk among WLWH.
Journal ArticleDOI
The impact of radiosurgery fractionation and tumor radiobiology on the local control of brain metastases.
Eric K. Oermann,Marie Adele S Kress,Jonathan V. Todd,Brian T. Collins,Riane Hoffman,Huma Chaudhry,Sean P. Collins,David E. Morris,Matthew G. Ewend +8 more
TL;DR: Single-fraction radiosurgery is equally effective in the treatment of radioresistant and radiosensitive metastatic tumors in the brain, however, fractionated stereotactic radiosur surgery is less effective in radioresistance tumor subtypes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Underutilization of Statins When Indicated in HIV-Seropositive and Seronegative Women
Jonathan V. Todd,Stephen R. Cole,David A. Wohl,Ross J. Simpson,Michele Jonsson Funk,M. Alan Brookhart,Jennifer Cocohoba,Daniel Merenstein,Anjali Sharma,Jason Lazar,Joel Milam,Mardge H. Cohen,Stephen J. Gange,Tené T. Lewis,Greer A. Burkholder,Adaora A. Adimora +15 more
TL;DR: Clinicians treating HIV‐seropositive women should consider more aggressive management of the dyslipidemia often found in this population, and applying the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association (ACC/AHA) guidelines increased the proportion of HIV‐Seropositives women with a statin indication from 16% to 45%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Informative censoring by health plan disenrollment among commercially insured adults
TL;DR: This work explored whether patterns of disenrollment varied by patient or health plan characteristics, and if individuals who disenroll are different from those who remain enrolled, informative censoring may bias descriptive statistics.
