Environmentally Friendly Concrete Compressive Strength Prediction Using Hybrid Machine Learning

TL;DR: In this paper , a three-step machine learning approach was employed to estimate the compressive strength of geopolymer concrete using CatBoost regressors, extra trees regressors and gradient boosting regressors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of Atypical Vehicle Types on Girder Distribution Factors of Secondary Road Steel-Concrete Composite Bridges

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of atypical agricultural vehicle parameters on girder distribution factors (GDFs) for two simply supported steel-concrete composite bridges located on secondary roads in the United States was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Seismic Response of Steel SMFs Subjected to Vertical Components of Far- and Near-Field Earthquakes with Forward Directivity Effects

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated 3-, 5-, 8-, and 20-story steel moment frames with special ductility (SMF) through which modeling effects of panel zone have been applied, subjected to vertical component of near-field (NF) earthquakes with forward directivity and the vertical components of far-field earthquakes, and they found that the average values of the maximum displacement, shear force of the stories, and the velocity of each story under the impact of the near field earthquake are greater than the amount of that under the effect of a far field earthquake.
Journal ArticleDOI

Service-Life Evaluation of Existing Bridges Subjected to Static and Moving Trucks Using Structural Health Monitoring System: Case Study

TL;DR: The results show that the bridge is safe using different indices, such as reliability, neutral axis, similarity performance, and curvature modal, dynamic factor and frequency changes, which are reported to be lower than the standard AASHTO values and previous inspections, and no abnormal conditions are observed.
