TL;DR: In this article, a meta-analysis of 24 effect sizes from transfer of training experiments using whole body simulator motion as an independent variable was presented, which revealed an overall transfer effect in favor of motion.
Abstract: We present a meta-analysis of 24 effect sizes from transfer of training experiments using whole body simulator motion as an independent variable. Three moderator variables were investigated: experiment design, task type, and subjects' experience. Due to the large heterogeneity of the included experiments, we used a random-effects model. Correction for measurement error was applied. The results revealed an overall transfer effect in favor of motion (d = 0.51). Effects were weaker in true transfer (d = 0.10) than in quasi-transfer with different (d = 0.73) and identical (d = 1.19) motion, stronger for helicopter (d = 0.86) and disturbance tasks (d = 0.84) than for maneuvering fixed-wing aircraft (d = 0.07), and stronger for subjects without flight experience (d = 1.57) than for pilots with intermediate (d = 0.53) and expert (d = −0.01) experience. In conclusion, motion seems important for flight-naive individuals learning tasks with external disturbances or control of vehicles with low dynamic stability, bu...

TL;DR: The objective of this work is to acquire the steering metrics of real cars during double-lane change tests and indicate the key parameters of the vehicle that determine these steering metrics and how vehicular parameterization could be adapted to achieve realistic on-center vehicle steering response and steering feedback in a driving simulator.

TL;DR: The association between distal lesions and proximal neoplasia increases with the severity of the distal lesion, and is stronger in low-risk groups as compared to high- risk groups.
Abstract: To investigate the association between proximal colonic neoplasia and distal lesions as a function of the lesion type The extent to which health, demographic, and study characteristics moderate this association was also examined

TL;DR: De Winter et al. as discussed by the authors used the Driver Behaviour Questionnaire (DBQ) as a predictor of accidents and conducted a meta-analysis of the DBQ and its predictive power.
Abstract: The following discussion is in response to a 2010 article published in the Journal of Safety Research by J.C.F. de Winter and D. Dodou entitled “The Driver Behaviour Questionnaire as a predictor of accidents: A meta-analysis” (Volume 41, Number 6, pp. 463-470, available on sciencedirect.com).
