Noninvasive diagnosis of cardiac allograft rejection using echocardiography indices of systolic and diastolic function.
Feras Bader,N. Islam,N.A. Mehta,N. Worthen,Stephen M. Ishihara,Josef Stehlik,Josef Stehlik,Edward M. Gilbert,Sheldon E. Litwin +8 more
TL;DR: Although 1 echocardiographic parameter was statistically different in the setting of rejection, lack of consistency and overlap between nonrejection and rejection groups does not permit definitive noninvasive diagnosis of cardiac allograft rejection using this imaging modality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heart, Lung, and vascular registries : Evolving goals, successful approaches, and ongoing innovation

Impact of high‐dose inotropic donor support on early myocardial necrosis and outcomes in cardiac transplantation
Jennifer L. Nixon,Abdallah G. Kfoury,Abdallah G. Kfoury,Kim Brunisholz,Benjamin D. Horne,Benjamin D. Horne,C. Myrick,Dylan V. Miller,Deborah Budge,Feras Bader,Melanie D. Everitt,Abdulfattah Saidi,Josef Stehlik,Tracy C. Schmidt,Rami Alharethi +14 more
TL;DR: The impact of high‐dose inotropic donor support on early myocardial necrosis and outcomes in cardiac transplantation and the need for further research into this topic is investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outcomes in Patients With Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Awaiting Heart Transplantation
Julio Zuñiga Cisneros,Josef Stehlik,Craig H. Selzman,Stavros G. Drakos,S. McKellar,Omar Wever-Pinzon +5 more
TL;DR: Although post-transplant survival in HCM is excellent, waitlist mortality is substantial and with minimal decline in the most recent era, despite the frequent use of listing status upgrade by exception in this patient cohort, suggests different strategies to improve the performance of the organ allocation system in patients with HCM.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of pre–heart transplant body mass index on posttransplant outcomes: An analysis of the ISHLT Registry Data
Barbara S. Doumouras,Chun-Po Steve Fan,Brigitte Mueller,Anne I. Dipchand,Cedric Manlhiot,Cedric Manlhiot,Josef Stehlik,Heather J. Ross,Ana C. Alba +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that pretransplant obese and underweight patients have increased post–heart transplant mortality and morbidity, which has implications for candidate selection and posttransplant management.
