Epilepsy in a population of 6000 re-examined: secular trends in first attendance rates, prevalence, and prognosis.
TL;DR: There was no evidence that prognosis has significantly altered in the past 40 years, and the first attendance rates for epilepsy in elderly people in the years 1984-93, were higher than in any other age group.

National General Practice Study of Epilepsy (NGPSE) Partial seizure patterns in a general population
TL;DR: Temporal lobe epilepsy may be underreported, as it may be more difficult to localize clinically, and the clinical, EEG, and CT localizations may frequently be discordant in this nonrefractory group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sudden unexpected death in epilepsy: mechanisms, prevalence, and prevention.
Rainer Surges,Josemir W. Sander +1 more
TL;DR: Seizure frequency appears to be an important factor in sudden unexpected death in epilepsy, although the exact pathogenetic mechanisms involved are unclear.
Journal ArticleDOI
