Journal ArticleDOI
Giant elastocaloric effect in directionally solidified Ni-Mn-In magnetic shape memory alloy
Yujin Huang,Qingyun Hu,Nickolaus M. Bruno,Jing-Han Chen,Ibrahim Karaman,Joseph H. Ross,J.G. Li +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the giant elastocaloric effect of directionally solidified Ni-Mn-In magnetic shape memory alloys (MSMAs) near room temperature was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of heat treatments on Ni43Mn42Co4Sn11 meta-magnetic shape memory alloys for magnetic refrigeration
Nickolaus M. Bruno,Cengiz Yegin,Ibrahim Karaman,Jing-Han Chen,Joseph H. Ross,Jian Liu,Jianguo Li +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the inverse magnetocaloric effect (MCE) in bulk polycrystalline and melt-spun ribbons of the Ni43Mn42Co4Sn11 meta-magnetic shape memory alloy (MSMA) is investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Semimetallic behavior in Fe 2 VAl: NMR evidence
Chin-Shan Lue,Joseph H. Ross +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the results of a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) study of the material at temperatures between 4 and 550 K were reported, showing that the low-temperature NMR relaxation rate follows a Korringa law, indicating a small density of carriers at the Fermi level.
Journal ArticleDOI
Syntheses, Structure, and Magnetic Properties of New Types of Cu(II), Co(II), and Mn(II) Organophosphonate Materials: Three-Dimensional Frameworks and a One-Dimensional Chain Motif
Deyuan Kong,Yang Li,Xiang Ouyang,Andrey V. Prosvirin,Hanhua Zhao,Joseph H. Ross,Kim R. Dunbar,Abraham Clearfield +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the properties of the Cu(II, Co(II), and Mn(II) complexes with organophosphonic acid H2O3PCH2NH2+CH2PO3H- are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
NMR study of the structure and motion of charge density waves in NbSe3
TL;DR: NMR measurements of the resonance in the charge-density-wave (CDW) conductor on aligned, multicrystalline samples show evidence, including current-induced motional narrowing, of CDW motion throughout the entire sample, above the threshold.
