Journal ArticleDOI
Inclusive sharing of mass spectrometry imaging data requires a converter for all.
TL;DR: It is proposed that proprietary formats should first be converted to mzML using one of the widely available converters, such as msconvert and then use imzMLConverter to convert mZML to imz ML, which will allow a wider audience to benefit from the imZML format immediately.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chemical intervention in plant sugar signalling increases yield and resilience
Cara A. Griffiths,Ram Sagar,Yiqun Geng,Lucia F. Primavesi,Mitul Patel,Melissa K. Passarelli,Ian S. Gilmore,Rory T. Steven,Josephine Bunch,Josephine Bunch,Matthew J. Paul,Benjamin G. Davis +11 more
TL;DR: It is shown that chemical intervention in a potent sugar signal increases grain yield, whereas application to vegetative tissue improves recovery and resurrection from drought, offering a means to combine increases in yield with crop stress resilience.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single-Cell Analysis: Visualizing Pharmaceutical and Metabolite Uptake in Cells with Label-Free 3D Mass Spectrometry Imaging
Melissa K. Passarelli,Carla F. Newman,Peter S. Marshall,Andrew West,Ian S. Gilmore,Ian S. Gilmore,Josephine Bunch,Josephine Bunch,Morgan R. Alexander,Colin T. Dollery +9 more
TL;DR: Three-dimensional secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) imaging was used to investigate the cellular uptake of the antiarrhythmic agent amiodarone, a phospholipidosis-inducing pharmaceutical compound, and provided the basis for studying Cellular uptake of pharmaceutical compounds and their metabolites on the single cell level.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mass Spectrometry Imaging and Integration with Other Imaging Modalities for Greater Molecular Understanding of Biological Tissues
Tiffany Porta Siegel,Gregory Hamm,Josephine Bunch,Jo Cappell,John S. Fletcher,Kristina Schwamborn +5 more
TL;DR: For instance, mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) has demonstrated its potential in numerous applications from drug discovery, disease state evaluation through proteomic and/or metabolomic studies as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hyperspectral visualization of mass spectrometry imaging data.
Judith M. Fonville,Claire L Carter,Luis Pizarro,Luis Pizarro,Rory T. Steven,Andrew Palmer,Rian L. Griffiths,Patricia F. Lalor,John C. Lindon,Jeremy K. Nicholson,Elaine Holmes,Josephine Bunch +11 more
TL;DR: An intuitive color-coding scheme based on hyperspectral imaging methods is developed to generate a single overview image of this complex data set, based on spectral characteristics, such that pixels with similar molecular profiles are displayed with similar colors.
