Association Between Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement and Subsequent Infective Endocarditis and In-Hospital Death

Ander Regueiro, +64 more
- 13 Sep 2016 -
TL;DR: Among patients undergoing TAVR, younger age, male sex, history of diabetes mellitus, and moderate to severe residual aortic regurgitation were significantly associated with an increased risk of infective endocarditis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long term outcome of infective endocarditis in patients who were not drug addicts : a 10 year study

TL;DR: A high early surgery rate is related to good long term results and does not increase in-hospital mortality, however, medical treatment also offers favourable longterm results in cases of responsive infective endocarditis where poor prognostic factors are absent.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simple and complex stent strategies for bifurcated coronary arterial stenosis involving the side branch origin.

TL;DR: Complex techniques providing radical stent reconstruction of the bifurcation seems to provide no advantages over the simpler stent jail followed by ostial side branch balloon dilation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of early treatment with ivabradine combined with beta-blockers versus beta-blockers alone in patients hospitalised with heart failure and reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (ETHIC-AHF): A randomised study.

TL;DR: The early coadministration of ivabradine and beta-blockers during hospital admission for acute HFrEF is feasible and safe, and it produces a significant decrease in HR at 28days and at 4months after hospital discharge.
