Journal ArticleDOI
Isolation and structure of rolliniastatin 1 from the South American tree Rolliniamucosa
George R. Pettit,Gordon M. Cragg,Judith Polonsky,Delbert L. Herald,Animesh Goswami,Cecil R. Smith,Christian Moretti,Jean M. Schmidt,David Weisleder +8 more
TL;DR: Rolliniamucosa (Annonaceae), known in primitive medical practices of Indonesia and the West Indies as a treatment for tumors, has been investigated employing the seeds from a South American variety and the murine P388 lymphocytic leukemia for bioassay, finding a new bis-tetrahydrofuran designated rolliniastatin 1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of limonoids against the murine P388 lymphocytic leukemia cell line.
George R. Pettit,Derek H. R. Barton,Derek H. R. Barton,Cherry L. Herald,Judith Polonsky,Judith Polonsky,Jean M. Schmidt,Joseph D. Connolly,Joseph D. Connolly +8 more
TL;DR: A structure/activity study of selected limonoids from two plant families against the murine P-388 lymphocytic leukemia system found the presence of both a 19 leads to 28 lactol and a 14,15 beta-epoxide group was found especially important for pronounced inhibition of the PS in vitro cell line.
Journal ArticleDOI
The structure of amoorastatone and the cytotoxic limonoid 12-hydroxyamoorastatin.

TL;DR: 2 new limonoid-type terpenes have been isolated from an aqueous extract of seeds produced by the Eastern Himalayan (India) plant by interpreting principally mass spectral and nuclear magnetic resonance data.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isolation and structure of rolliniastatin 2: A new cell growth inhibitory acetogenin from Rollinia mucosa
George R. Pettit,Roland Riesen,John E. Leet,Judith Polonsky,Cecil R. Smith,Jean M. Schmidt,Claude Dufresne,Daniel E. Schaufelberger,Chiristion Moretti +8 more
TL;DR: A new cell growth inhibitory acetogenin, designated rolliniastatin 2, has been isolated from seeds of the South American Rollinia mucosa (Annonaceae) and its structure determined as discussed by the authors.
