Raised-Cosine OFDM for Enhanced Out-of-Band Suppression at Low Subcarrier Counts
Rene Schmogrow,B. Baeuerle,David Hillerkuss,Bernd Nebendahl,Christian Koos,Wolfgang Freude,Juerg Leuthold +6 more
TL;DR: Raised-cosine instead of rectangular windowing of OFDM symbols provides a steeper spectral roll-off and inverse windowing at the receiver maintains orthogonality, therefore, multiple OFDM bands even with few subcarriers can be efficiently multiplexed.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Dual-Drive Plasmonic Transmitter with Co-Designed Driver Electronics operated at 120 GBd On-Off Keying
Benedikt Baeuerle,Wolfgang Heni,Yuriy Fedoryshyn,Claudia Hoessbacher,Ueli Koch,Arne Josten,Tatsuhiko Watanabe,Christopher Uhl,Horst Hettrich,Delwin L. Elder,Larry R. Dalton,Michael Moller,Juerg Leuthold +12 more
TL;DR: A plasmonic dual-drive transmitter with co-designed driver electronics featuring 120 GBd on-off keying, with a single ended drive voltage of 450 mV and BER performance of 5.7 × 10−7 is demonstrated in a 500 m direct detection transmission scheme.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Dielectric Layers in Plasmonic-Organic Hybrid Modulators
Wolfgang Heni,Christian Haffner,Raphael Cottier,Yuriy Fedoryshyn,Delwin L. Elder,Larry R. Dalton,Juerg Leuthold +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the applicability of nm-thin dielectric layers to increase nanoscale device nonlinearities was investigated, and it was shown that modulator performances can be improved by a factor > 2, compared to low-index dielectrics.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
70 Gbit/s photonic wireless link at 60 GHz
Felix C. Abrecht,Romain Bonjour,S. Welschen,Arne Josten,Benedikt Baeuerle,David Hillerkuss,Maurizio Burla,Juerg Leuthold +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrate a 70 Gbit/s photonic wireless link on a single carrier at 60 GHz using a single polarization, which is the highest data rate on the single polarization 60 GHz carrier.
