High resolution volumetric dual-camera light-field PIV

TL;DR: In this paper, a dual light-field camera framework was proposed to improve the depth resolution of a single-camera-based particle image velocimetry (LF-PIV) approach.
Journal ArticleDOI

Signatures of shear-layer unsteadiness in proper orthogonal decomposition

TL;DR: In this article, the role of high-energy modes in the proper orthogonal decomposition analysis of large-scale coherent structures was investigated, linking their existence to the unsteadiness of shear-layer coherent structures.
Journal Article

A study of the turbulence structures of wall-bounded shear flows using DNS data

TL;DR: In this article, the authors extended the study of wall-bounded flows using the topological properties of eddying motions as developed by Chong et al. (1990), Soria et al (1992, 1994), and as recently extended by Blackburn et al., Chacin et al, and Nissim and Na & Moin (1996).
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis of a drag reduced flat plate turbulent boundary layer via uniform momentum zones

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the connection between friction drag reduction and the structural properties of the instantaneous flow fields manipulated by the surface wave and found that the near-wall flow structures of high fluctuating intensity are less correlated to the large-scale uniform momentum zones (UMZs) due to the spanwise surface wave motion.
