Journal ArticleDOI

QuaDRiGa: A 3-D Multi-Cell Channel Model With Time Evolution for Enabling Virtual Field Trials

TL;DR: This paper extends the popular Wireless World Initiative for New Radio (WINNER) channel model with new features to make it as realistic as possible and can accurately predict the performance for an urban macro-cell setup with commercial high-gain antennas.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Channel modelling for the fifth generation mobile communications

TL;DR: The main objective of this paper is to present major challenges regarding the fifth generation (5G) mobile communications propagation modelling work in the European 7th framework project METIS (Mobile and wireless communications Enablers for the Twenty-twenty Information Society).
Journal ArticleDOI

A Geometric Polarization Rotation Model for the 3-D Spatial Channel Model

TL;DR: Comparisons of simulation and measurement results show that the coefficients of the polarized LOS channel can be predicted very well by the new method, and this increase in modeling accuracy is an important feature for many applications such as heterogeneous networks, space-to-ground satellite communications, and cooperative communications.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

On the requirements for quasi-deterministic radio channel models for heterogeneous networks

TL;DR: This paper introduces the key aspects of a new channel model based upon the Wireless World Initiative New Radio (WINNER)+ channel model for wireless channels in heterogeneous scenarios (e.g. indoor, outdoor and satellite scenarios).
