Hepatic arterial infusion of verapamil and doxorubicin with complete hepatic venous isolation and extracorporeal chemofiltration: pharmacological evaluation of reduction in systemic drug exposure and assessment of hepatic toxicity

TL;DR: Results of this study indicate that hepatic arterial infusion of verapamil and doxorubicin, in an attempt to improve treatment response in unresectable liver tumours expressing the multidrug resistance phenotype, may not be tolerated by patients with limited hepatic reserve.
Journal ArticleDOI

Human cell line from an adenocarcinoma of the ampulla of vater

TL;DR: The MDAAmp-7 cell line was cultured from a metastatic abdominal implant that arose from the primary adenocarcinoma of the ampulla of Vater, and displayed a spectrum ranging from well-differentiated glandular structures to small clusters of cells and highly anaplastic single cells with occasional signet-ring configuration transmitted through the museularis propria of the duodenum into peripanereatic adipose tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI

Regional DNA content heterogeneity in colonic adenocarcinoma: prognostic significance in patients with liver metastases.

TL;DR: Examining the DNA ploidy pattern in tissue blocks from 25 primary colon adenocarcinomas and their lymph node and liver metastases concluded that three of eight patients in the diploid group remain free of disease, while all 16 patients with aneuploid cell populations have died of recurrent disease.
