Journal ArticleDOI

Hyaluronic acid counteracts interleukin-1-induced inhibition of collagen biosynthesis in cultured human chondrocytes

TL;DR: The data suggest that HA-dependent up-regulation of collagen biosynthesis in IL-1beta-treated chondrocytes may involve stimulation of prolidase activity in serum "starved" cells and may also originate at the transcriptional level in the cells cultured in standard conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Impact of OMEGA-3 Fatty Acids Supplementation on Insulin Resistance and Content of Adipocytokines and Biologically Active Lipids in Adipose Tissue of High-Fat Diet Fed Rats

TL;DR: The results demonstrate that PUFAs may prevent the development of insulin resistance in response to high-fat feeding and may regulate the expression and secretion of adipocytokines in this animal model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cellular, transcriptomic and methylome effects of individual and combined exposure to BPA, BPF, BPS on mouse spermatocyte GC-2 cell line.

TL;DR: The data suggest that exposure to BPA and its main substitutes‐ BPF and BPS induced multitude of effects and hence, BPFand BPS are not safe alternative to B PA in terms of male reproductive health.
Journal ArticleDOI

Altered peroxisome-proliferator activated receptors expression in human endometrial cancer.

TL;DR: Analysis of PPARs mRNA content as well as protein immunohistochemical expression provides evidence for altered PPAR's protein expression and disregard of posttranslational processes in endometrial cancers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Form of dual-specificity tyrosine-(Y)-phosphorylation-regulated kinase 1A nonphosphorylated at tyrosine 145 and 147 is enriched in the nuclei of astroglial cells, adult hippocampal progenitors, and some cholinergic axon terminals.

TL;DR: A distinctive expression pattern of DYRK1A forms nonphosphorylated at Tyr-145 and Tyr-147 in the brain tissue is shown and suggest that DS subjects may exhibit not only upregulation of total DYRk1A, but also more subtle differences in phosphorylation levels of this kinase in comparison with control individuals.
