Journal ArticleDOI
Docosahexaenoic acid reverses the promoting effects of breast tumor cell-derived exosomes on endothelial cell migration and angiogenesis
Parisa Ghaffari-Makhmalbaf,Maryam Sayyad,Katayoon Pakravan,Ehsan Razmara,Amirreza Bitaraf,Babak Bakhshinejad,Parmida Goudarzi,Hassan Yousefi,Mahmoud Pournaghshband,Fahimeh Nemati,Hossein Fahimi,Fatemeh Rohollah,Mandana Hasanzad,Mehrdad Hashemi,Seyed Hadi Mousavi,Sadegh Babashah +15 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that the incubation with TDE (DHA+) could significantly decrease endothelial cell proliferation and migration and also the length and number of tubes made by HUVECs in comparison with endothelial cells incubated with exosomes obtained from untreated BC cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prostate cancer stem cells: from theory to practice.
TL;DR: Unraveling the mechanisms underlying the physiological functions of cancer stem cells and gaining fundamental insights into their putative involvement in the pathogenesis of prostate tumors provide novel opportunities for the development of efficient and sophisticated therapeutic strategies in the future.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regulation of MicroRNAs by Phytochemicals: A Promising Strategy for Cancer Chemoprevention.
Sadegh Babashah,Babak Bakhshinejad,Maryam Tahmasebi Birgani,Katayoon Pakravan,William C. Cho +4 more
TL;DR: An overview of recent findings on the effects of some wellcharacterized bioactive phytochemicals on miRNAs and their target genes in different cancer types is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Upregulation of the long noncoding RNAs DSCAM-AS1 and MANCR is a potential diagnostic marker for breast carcinoma.
Fatemeh Tahmouresi,Ehsan Razmara,Katayoon Pakravan,Majid Mossahebi-Mohammadi,Fatemeh Rouhollah,Maryam Montazeri,Alireza Sarrafzadeh,Hossein Fahimi,Sadegh Babashah +8 more
TL;DR: The present study might provide further approval for the clinical diagnostic significance of DSCAM‐AS1 and MANCR lncRNAs that their high expressions were associated with aggressive clinical parameters of BC.
Book ChapterDOI
Cancer Stem Cells: A Quick Walk Through the Concepts
TL;DR: Treatment approach based on combination of conventional therapies targeting bulk tumor cells and therapeutic strategies that selectively target CSCs would be of value in curing cancer.
