The GALAH survey: Milky Way disc metallicity and alpha-abundance trends in combined APOGEE-GALAH catalogues
G. Nandakumar,Michael R. Hayden,Sanjib Sharma,Sven Buder,Martin Asplund,Joss Bland-Hawthorn,Gayandhi M. De Silva,Valentina D'Orazi,Kenneth C. Freeman,Janez Kos,Geraint F. Lewis,Sarah L. Martell,Katharine J. Schlesinger,Jane Lin,Jeffrey D. Simpson,Daniel B. Zucker,Tomaz Zwitter,Thomas Nordlander,Luca Casagrande,Karin Lind,Klemen Čotar,Dennis Stello,Robert A. Wittenmyer,Thor Tepper-García +23 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the GALAH scaled and APOGEE scaled metallicity distribution functions (MDF) and found similar [$\alpha$/Fe] vs [Fe/H] trends using both samples consistent with previous observational as well as simulation based studies.

Nataf,Yuan-Sen Ting,Fred G. Watson,Robert A. Wittenmyer,Rosemary F. G. Wyse +32 more
TL;DR: Using GALAH survey data of nearby stars, the authors of as mentioned in this paper showed that the Hercules stream is most strongly seen in higher metallicity stars [Fe/H] > 2.

Probing Galactic Structure with the Spatial Correlation Function of SEGUE G-dwarf Stars
Qingqing Mao,Andreas A. Berlind,Kelly Holley-Bockelmann,Katharine J. Schlesinger,Jennifer A. Johnson,Constance M. Rockosi,Timothy C. Beers,Donald P. Schneider,Kaike Pan,Dmitry Bizyaev,Elena Malanushenko +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the two-point correlation function of G-dwarf stars within 1-3 kpc of the Sun in multiple lines-of-sight using the Schlesinger et al. Gdwarfs sample from the SDSS SEGUE survey.
Journal ArticleDOI
Deep SDSS optical spectroscopy of distant halo stars II. Iron, calcium, and magnesium abundances
Emma Fernández-Alvar,Emma Fernández-Alvar,C. Allende Prieto,C. Allende Prieto,Katharine J. Schlesinger,Timothy C. Beers,Annie C. Robin,Donald P. Schneider,Young Sun Lee,Dmitry Bizyaev,Garrett Ebelke,Elena Malanushenko,V. Malanushenko,Daniel Oravetz,K. Pan,Audrey Simmons +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed a sample of 3,944 low-resolution (R ~ 2000) optical spectra from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), focusing on stars with effective temperatures 5800 < Teff < 6300 K, and distances from the Milky Way plane in excess of 5 kpc, and determined their abundances of Fe, Ca, and Mg.
