Journal ArticleDOI
Na-O Anticorrelation and HB. VII. The chemical composition of first and second-generation stars in 15 globular clusters from GIRAFFE spectra
Elisa Carretta,Angela Bragaglia,Raffaele Gratton,Sara Lucatello,Sara Lucatello,Giovanni Catanzaro,Francesco Leone,Michele Bellazzini,Riccardo Claudi,Valentina D'Orazi,Yazan Momany,Yazan Momany,Sergio Ortolani,Elena Pancino,Giampaolo Piotto,Alejandra Recio-Blanco,Elena Sabbi +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present abundances of Fe, Na, and O for 1409 red giant stars in 15 galactic globular clusters (GCs), derived from the homogeneous analysis of high-resolution FLAMES/GIRAFFE spectra.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intrinsic iron spread and a new metallicity scale for globular clusters
Eugenio Carretta,Angela Bragaglia,Raffaele Gratton,Valentina D'Orazi,Sara Lucatello,Sara Lucatello +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used spectra of about 2000 red giant branch (RGB) stars in 19 Galactic globular clusters (GC) using FLAMES@VLT (about 100 stars with GIRAFFE and about 10 with UVES, respectively, in each GC).

TL;DR: The Galactic Archaeology with HERMES (GALAH) survey is a large high-resolution spectroscopic survey using the newly commissioned High Efficiency and Resolution Multi-element Spectrograph (HERMES) on the Anglo-Australian Telescope as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Properties of stellar generations in globular clusters and relations with global parameters
Elisa Carretta,Angela Bragaglia,Raffaele Gratton,Alejandra Recio-Blanco,Sara Lucatello,Sara Lucatello,Valentina D'Orazi,Santi Cassisi +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a new definition of bona fide globular clusters (GCs) based on the observed detailed chemical composition of their different stellar generations to the set of their global parameters, and found that the luminosity function of GCs is fairly independent of their population.
Journal ArticleDOI

Zinn,Maruša Žerjal +53 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the GALAH second public data release (GALAH DR2) containing 342 682 stars and use the physics-driven spectrum synthesis of Spectroscopy Made Easy (SME) to derive stellar labels.
