Weyl-like points from band inversions of spin-polarised surface states in NbGeSb
Igor Marković,Igor Marković,Chris Hooley,O. J. Clark,Federico Mazzola,Matthew D. Watson,J. M. Riley,K Volckaert,Kaycee Underwood,Matthew S. Dyer,Philip A. E. Murgatroyd,Keith Murphy,P. Le Fèvre,François Bertran,Jun Fujii,Ivana Vobornik,Shilong Wu,Taichi Okuda,Jonathan Alaria,Philip D. C. King +19 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a band inversion between manifolds of surface states is proposed to stabilize topological and symmetry-protected states in solids, by aliovalent substitution of Nb for Zr and Sb for S in the ZrSiS family of nonsymmorphic semimetals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electronic Structure and Enhanced Charge-Density Wave Order of Monolayer VSe2
Jiagui Feng,Deepnarayan Biswas,Akhil Rajan,Matthew D. Watson,Federico Mazzola,O. J. Clark,Kaycee Underwood,Igor Marković,Igor Marković,Martin McLaren,Andrew Hunter,D. M. Burn,L. B. Duffy,L. B. Duffy,Sourabh Barua,Geetha Balakrishnan,François Bertran,Patrick Le Fèvre,Timur K. Kim,Gerrit van der Laan,Thorsten Hesjedal,Peter Wahl,Phil D. C. King +22 more
TL;DR: This study uses angle-resolved photoemission to investigate the electronic structure of monolayer VSe2 grown on bilayer graphene/SiC and shows that pronounced energy gaps develop over the entire Fermi surface with decreasing temperature below Tc = 140 ± 5 K, concomitant with the emergence of charge-order superstructures evident in low-energy electron diffraction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Morphology Control of Epitaxial Monolayer Transition Metal Dichalcogenides
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of adatom mobility, growth rate, and metal:chalcogen flux on the growth of NbSe2, VSe2 and TiSe2 using MBE was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Morphology control of epitaxial monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of adatom mobility, growth rate, and metal:chalcogen flux on the growth of monolayer transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) monolayers using MBE is analyzed.

TL;DR: A surface state band inversion in the nonsymmorphic semimetal NbGeSb is generated, leading to protected crossing points in the resulting spin-orbital entangled surface band structure, thereby stabilising surface state analogues of three-dimensional Weyl points.
