Allergic Rhinitis and Its Impact on Asthma

The European Position Paper on Rhinosinusitis and Nasal Polyps 2020 is the update of similar evidence based position papers published in 2005 and 2007 and 2012. The core objective of the EPOS2020 guideline is to provide revised, up-to-date and clear evidence-based recommendations and integrated care pathways in ARS and CRS. EPOS2020 provides an update on the literature published and studies undertaken in the eight years since the EPOS2012 position paper was published and addresses areas not extensively covered in EPOS2012 such as paediatric CRS and sinus surgery. EPOS2020 also involves new stakeholders, including pharmacists and patients, and addresses new target users who have become more involved in the management and treatment of rhinosinusitis since the publication of the last EPOS document, including pharmacists, nurses, specialised care givers and indeed patients themselves, who employ increasing self-management of their condition using over the counter treatments. The document provides suggestions for future research in this area and offers updated guidance for definitions and outcome measurements in research in different settings. EPOS2020 contains chapters on definitions and classification where we have defined a large number of terms and indicated preferred terms. A new classification of CRS into primary and secondary CRS and further division into localized and diffuse disease, based on anatomic distribution is proposed. There are extensive chapters on epidemiology and predisposing factors, inflammatory mechanisms, (differential) diagnosis of facial pain, allergic rhinitis, genetics, cystic fibrosis, aspirin exacerbated respiratory disease, immunodeficiencies, allergic fungal rhinosinusitis and the relationship between upper and lower airways. The chapters on paediatric acute and chronic rhinosinusitis are totally rewritten. All available evidence for the management of acute rhinosinusitis and chronic rhinosinusitis with or without nasal polyps in adults and children is systematically reviewed and integrated care pathways based on the evidence are proposed. Despite considerable increases in the amount of quality publications in recent years, a large number of practical clinical questions remain. It was agreed that the best way to address these was to conduct a Delphi exercise . The results have been integrated into the respective sections. Last but not least, advice for patients and pharmacists and a new list of research needs are included. The objective of this paper is to give a comprehensive introduction to applied cryptography with an engineer or computer scientist in mind. The emphasis is on the knowledge needed to create practical systems which supports integrity, confidentiality, or authenticity. Topics covered includes an introduction to the concepts in cryptography, attacks against cryptographic systems, key use and handling, random bit generation, encryption modes, and message authentication codes. Recommendations on algorithms and further reading is given in the end of the paper. This paper should make the reader able to build, understand and evaluate system descriptions and designs based on the cryptographic components described in the paper.

Recently, multiparty key agreement protocols with cheater identification based on Shamir secret sharing was presented by Pieprzyk and Li and Y. M. Tseng, respectively. However, in their multiparty key agreement protocols there are mistakes in computing a common secret key. Also Tseng’s cheater identification scheme cannot identify cheaters perfectly. In this paper, we present a concrete multiparty key agreement protocol with more efficient and perfect cheater identification than Tseng’s protocol in computations and communications. Performance comparison and security analysis are given in this paper.

Multiparty Key Agreement Protocol with Cheater Identification Based on Shamir Secret Sharing

From Seo and Sweeney proposed SAKA (Simple Authenticated Key agreement Algorithm), many SAKA variants were proposed to cope with the weaknesses in SAKA. However, they still are vulnerable to off-line password guessing attack. This paper proposes a new secure authenticated key exchange protocol that can resist off-line password guessing attack. To solve the vulnerability of former protocols, keyed one-way hash function is used in the process of key verification. Proposed protocol solves all weaknesses in SAKA and its variants.

ABSTRACT A remote user authentication is a mechanism to authenticate remote users over insecure communication networks. It is evident that, with the passage of time, the volume of mobile user authentication is increasing because of the ease in accessing resources from any remote location. In 2008, Khan et al. proposed an efficient and practical chaotic hash-based fmgerprint biometric remote user authentication scheme for mobile devices. The current paper, however, demonstrates that Khan et al.’s scheme is vulnerable to a privileged insider’s attack and impersonation attacks by using lost or stolen mobile devices. In order to isolate such problems, the current paper also presents an improved remote user authentication scheme based on Khan et al.’s scheme.

A New Fingerprint Biometric Remote User Authentication Scheme Using Chaotic Hash Function On Mobile Devices

Finite field arithmetic operations have been widely used in the areas of network security and data communication applications, and high-speed and low-complexity design for finite field arithmetic is very necessary for these applications. The current paper presents a new AB2 algorithm along with its systolic implementations in GF(2m). The proposed algorithm is based on the MSB-first scheme using the standard basis representation. In addition, parallel-in parallel-out systolic architectures are also introduced using this algorithm as a foundation. The proposed architectures have a low hardware complexity and small latency compared to conventional architectures. In particular, the hardware complexity of AB2 and inversion/division array are about 25% lower than Wang's over GF(2m), while the latency of AB2 and inversion/ division array are about 40% and 49.6% lower, respectively. Furthermore, since the proposed architectures incorporate simplicity, regularity, modularity, and pipelinability, they are well suited to VLSI implementation and can also be utilized as the basic architecture for a crypto-processor.
