Blue Intensity based experiments for reconstructing NorthPacific temperatures along the Gulf of Alaska
Rob Wilson,Rob Wilson,Rosanne D'Arrigo,Laia Andreu-Hayles,Rose Oelkers,Greg Wiles,Greg Wiles,Kevin J. Anchukaitis,Kevin J. Anchukaitis,Nicole Davi,Nicole Davi +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors highlight the potential for improving tree-ring based reconstructions using combinations of RW and BI-related parameters from an experimental sub-set of samples from eight mountain hemlock (Tsuga mertensiana) sites along the Gulf of Alaska (GOA).
Journal ArticleDOI
Does signal-free detrending increase chronology coherence in large tree-ring networks?
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of signal-free detrending on tree-ring chronologies has been evaluated and the results demonstrate the importance of evaluating the effects of this method prior to deploying this method for chronology development and paleoclimate reconstruction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Unprecedented 21st century heat across the Pacific Northwest of North America
Karen J. Heeter,Grant L. Harley,John T. Abatzoglou,Kevin J. Anchukaitis,Edward R. Cook,Bethany Coulthard,Laura A. Dye,Inga K. Homfeld +7 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors used tree-ring records to show that extreme summer temperatures in 2021, as well as the rate of summertime warming during the last several decades, are unprecedented within the context of the last millennium for the PNW.
