Journal ArticleDOI
Differentiation and quantification of fibrosis, fat and fatty fibrosis in human left atrial myocardium using ex vivo MRI
Khaoula Bouazizi,Amer Rahhal,Slawomir Kusmia,Morgane Evin,Carine Defrance,Philippe Cluzel,Myriam Berthet,Fabrice Atassi,Pascal Leprince,Guillaume Lebreton,Nadjia Kachenoura,Stéphane N. Hatem,Alban Redheuil +12 more
TL;DR: High Field ex vivo MRI was able to quantify different LA myocardial components with high agreement in 2D with histology and moreover to provide 3D quantification of such components whereas in vivo application remains a challenge.
Journal ArticleDOI
Apixaban and Valve Thrombosis After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement: The ATLANTIS-4D-CT Randomized Clinical Trial Substudy.
Gilles Montalescot,Alban Redheuil,Flavien Vincent,Steffen Desch,Mauro De Benedictis,Hélène Eltchaninoff,Dietmar Trenk,Jean Michel Serfaty,Etienne Charpentier,Khaoula Bouazizi,Mikaël Prigent,Paul Guedeney,Tomy Salloum,Sergio Berti,Angel Cequier,Thierry Lefèvre,Pascal Leprince,Johanne Silvain,Eric Van Belle,Franz-Josef Neumann,Jean-Jacques Portal,Eric Vicaut,Jean-Philippe Collet +22 more
TL;DR: The ATLANTIS (Anti-Thrombotic strategy to Lower All Cardiovascular and Neurologic Ischemic and Hemorrhagic Events After Transcatheter aortic valve Implantation for Aortic Stenosis) trial demonstrated that apixaban 5 mg twice daily was not superior to standard of care (vitamin K antagonists or antiplatelet therapy) after successful TAVR and was associated with similar safety but with more noncardiovascular deaths as discussed by the authors .
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of MR T1 and T2 mapping parameters to characterize myocardial and skeletal muscle involvement in systemic idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM).
Adrian Thomas Huber,Adrian Thomas Huber,Jerome Lamy,Jerome Lamy,Marine Bravetti,Khaoula Bouazizi,Khaoula Bouazizi,Tania Bacoyannis,Charles Roux,Alain De Cesare,Aude Rigolet,Olivier Benveniste,Yves Allenbach,Mathieux Kerneis,Philippe Cluzel,Philippe Cluzel,Alban Redheuil,Alban Redheuil,Nadjia Kachenoura,Nadjia Kachenoura +19 more
TL;DR: MR relaxometry parameters applied to the myocardium and skeletal muscles might be useful to separate IIM patients from healthy controls, however, different tissue composition and vascularization should be taken into account for their interpretation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cardiac adipose tissue volume and IL-6 level at admission are complementary predictors of severity and short-term mortality in COVID-19 diabetic patients.
Franck Phan,Samia Boussouar,Olivier Lucidarme,Mohamed Zarai,Joe-Elie Salem,Nadjia Kachenoura,Khaoula Bouazizi,Etienne Charpentier,Yasmine Niati,Hasnae Bekkaoui,Zahir Amoura,Alexis Mathian,Olivier Benveniste,Patrice Cacoub,Yves Allenbach,David Saadoun,Jean-Marc Lacorte,Salma Fourati,Suzanne Laroche,Agnès Hartemann,Olivier Bourron,Fabrizio Andreelli,Alban Redheuil +22 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors found that increased CATi and interleukin-6 levels were associated with increased early mortality and ICU-requirement in COVID-19 diabetic patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Abdominal adipose tissue components quantification in MRI as a relevant biomarker of metabolic profile
Khaoula Bouazizi,Khaoula Bouazizi,Mohamed Zarai,Thomas Dietenbeck,Judith Aron-Wisnewsky,Karine Clément,Alban Redheuil,Nadjia Kachenoura +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a new approach to quantify the amount and type of truncal adipose tissue (AT) automatically from MRI in metabolic patients and controls, which can serve in the future as a noninvasive predictor of cardiovascular complications in such patients.
