Journal ArticleDOI
Cytochrome P450 2C19 polymorphism in young patients treated with clopidogrel after myocardial infarction: a cohort study
Jean-Philippe Collet,Jean-Sébastien Hulot,Anna Pena,Eric Villard,Jean-Baptiste Esteve,Johanne Silvain,Laurent Payot,Delphine Brugier,Guillaume Cayla,Farzin Beygui,Gilbert Bensimon,Christian Funck-Brentano,Gilles Montalescot +12 more
TL;DR: The CYP2C19*2 genetic variant is a major determinant of prognosis in young patients who are receiving clopidogrel treatment after myocardial infarction and is the only independent predictor of cardiovascular events.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bedside monitoring to adjust antiplatelet therapy for coronary stenting.
Jean-Philippe Collet,Thomas Cuisset,Grégoire Rangé,Guillaume Cayla,Simon Elhadad,Christophe Pouillot,Patrick Henry,Pascal Motreff,Didier Carrié,Ziad Boueri,Loic Belle,Eric Van Belle,Hélène Rousseau,Pierre Aubry,Jacques Monsegu,Pierre Sabouret,Jérémie Abtan,Mathieu Kerneis,Christophe Saint-Etienne,Olivier Barthelemy,Farzin Beygui,Johanne Silvain,Eric Vicaut,Gilles Montalescot +23 more
TL;DR: This study showed no significant improvements in clinical outcomes with platelet-function monitoring and treatment adjustment for coronary stenting, as compared with standard antiplatelet therapy without monitoring.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pretreatment with Prasugrel in Non–ST-Segment Elevation Acute Coronary Syndromes
Gilles Montalescot,Leonardo Bolognese,Dariusz Dudek,Patrick Goldstein,Christian W. Hamm,Jean Francois Tanguay,Jurriën M. ten Berg,Debra L. Miller,Timothy M. Costigan,Jochen Goedicke,Johanne Silvain,Paolo Angioli,Jacek Legutko,Margit Niethammer,Zuzana Motovska,Joseph A. Jakubowski,Guillaume Cayla,Luigi Oltrona Visconti,Eric Vicaut,Petr Widimsky +19 more
TL;DR: Among patients with NSTE acute coronary syndromes who were scheduled to undergo catheterization, pretreatment with prasugrel did not reduce the rate of major ischemic events up to 30 days but increased the rates of major bleeding complications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prehospital Ticagrelor in ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction
Gilles Montalescot,Arnoud W van 't Hof,Frédéric Lapostolle,Johanne Silvain,Jens Flensted Lassen,Leonardo Bolognese,Warren J. Cantor,Angel Cequier,Mohamed Chettibi,Shaun G. Goodman,Christopher J. Hammett,Kurt Huber,Magnus Janzon,Béla Merkely,Robert F. Storey,Uwe Zeymer,Olivier Stibbe,Patrick Ecollan,Wim M.J.M. Heutz,Eva Swahn,Jean-Philippe Collet,Frank F. Willems,Caroline Baradat,Muriel Licour,Anne Tsatsaris,Eric Vicaut,Christian W. Hamm +26 more
TL;DR: Prehospital administration of ticagrelor in patients with acute STEMI appeared to be safe but did not improve pre-PCI coronary reperfusion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cardiovascular Risk in Clopidogrel-Treated Patients According to Cytochrome P450 2C19*2 Loss-of-Function Allele or Proton Pump Inhibitor Coadministration: A Systematic Meta-Analysis
Jean-Sébastien Hulot,Jean-Philippe Collet,Johanne Silvain,Ana Pena,Anne Bellemain-Appaix,Olivier Barthelemy,Guillaume Cayla,Farzin Beygui,Gilles Montalescot +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a meta-analysis was performed on 23 studies using the odds ratio (OR) as the parameter of efficacy, with a fixed-effect model, to assess the association between the loss-of-function cytochrome P450 2C19 (CYP2C19)*2 variant (10 studies, 11,959 patients) or the use of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) in patients treated with clopidogrel.
