Journal ArticleDOI

Expression of (pro)renin receptor in breast cancers and its effect on cancercell proliferation

TL;DR: The present study has shown, for the first time, the expression of (P)RR in human breast carcinoma tissues and cultured breast carcinomas cell lines, raising the possibility that the blockade of the ( P)RR signaling may be a novel therapeutic strategy against Breast carcinomas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Increased expression of (pro)renin receptor in aldosterone-producing adenomas.

TL;DR: It is shown for the first time that expression of (P)RR is elevated in tumor tissues of APAs, raising the possibility that ( P)RR may play pathophysiological roles in AP as, such as aldosterone secretion and cell proliferation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Melanocytes contribute to the vasculature of the choroid

TL;DR: By comparing structural differences in the choroid of wild-type and melanocyte-deficient Mitfmi-bw/Mitfmi -bw mutant mice, the observations suggest that choroidal melanocytes contribute to the morphogenesis and/or maintenance of the normal vasculature structure of that tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dysregulated Expression of MITF in Subsets of Hepatocellular Carcinoma and Cholangiocarcinoma.

TL;DR: Mahanine, a carbazole alkaloid derived from Murraya koenigii (Linn.) Spreng, has been used as folk medicine in Thailand and showed the potent cytotoxicity in these hepatic cancer cell lines, which was associated with increased expression levels of MITF, as judged by Western blot analysis.
