Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of (pro)renin receptor in breast cancers and its effect on cancercell proliferation
Koji Ohba,Takashi Suzuki,Hiroshi Nishiyama,Kiriko Kaneko,Takuo Hirose,Kazuhito Totsune,Kazuhito Totsune,Hironobu Sasano,Kazuhiro Takahashi +8 more
TL;DR: The present study has shown, for the first time, the expression of (P)RR in human breast carcinoma tissues and cultured breast carcinomas cell lines, raising the possibility that the blockade of the ( P)RR signaling may be a novel therapeutic strategy against Breast carcinomas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased expression of (pro)renin receptor in aldosterone-producing adenomas.
Hajime Yamamoto,Kiriko Kaneko,Koji Ohba,Ryo Morimoto,Takuo Hirose,Fumitoshi Satoh,Kazuhito Totsune,Kazuhito Totsune,Kazuhiro Takahashi +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown for the first time that expression of (P)RR is elevated in tumor tissues of APAs, raising the possibility that ( P)RR may play pathophysiological roles in AP as, such as aldosterone secretion and cell proliferation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aberrant gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor (GnRHR) expression and its regulation of CYP11B2 expression and aldosterone production in adrenal aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA)
Yasuhiro Nakamura,Namita G. Hattangady,Ping Ye,Fumitoshi Satoh,Ryo Morimoto,Takako Ito-Saito,Akira Sugawara,Koji Ohba,Kazuhiro Takahashi,William E. Rainey,Hironobu Sasano +10 more
TL;DR: Results suggest GnRH, through heterotopic expression of its receptor, may be a potential regulator of CYP11B2 expression levels in some cases of APA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Melanocytes contribute to the vasculature of the choroid
Hirotoshi Shibuya,Ryutaro Watanabe,Akiteru Maeno,Kaoru Ichimura,Masaru Tamura,Shigeharu Wakana,Toshihiko Shiroishi,Koji Ohba,Kazuhisa Takeda,Kazuhisa Takeda,Hiroshi Tomita,Shigeki Shibahara,Shigeki Shibahara,Hiroaki Yamamoto +13 more
TL;DR: By comparing structural differences in the choroid of wild-type and melanocyte-deficient Mitfmi-bw/Mitfmi -bw mutant mice, the observations suggest that choroidal melanocytes contribute to the morphogenesis and/or maintenance of the normal vasculature structure of that tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dysregulated Expression of MITF in Subsets of Hepatocellular Carcinoma and Cholangiocarcinoma.
Nattakarn Nooron,Nattakarn Nooron,Koji Ohba,Kazuhisa Takeda,Shigeki Shibahara,Shigeki Shibahara,Anchalee Chiabchalard +6 more
TL;DR: Mahanine, a carbazole alkaloid derived from Murraya koenigii (Linn.) Spreng, has been used as folk medicine in Thailand and showed the potent cytotoxicity in these hepatic cancer cell lines, which was associated with increased expression levels of MITF, as judged by Western blot analysis.
