TL;DR: Findings do not support discontinuation of ACEI/ARB medications that are clinically indicated in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, and prior use ofACEI/ARBs was not significantly associated with CO VID-19 diagnosis among patients with hypertension or with mortality or severe disease among patients diagnosed as having COIDs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of Bystander and First-Responder Intervention With Survival After Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest in North Carolina, 2010-2013.
Carolina Malta Hansen,Kristian Kragholm,David Pearson,Clark Tyson,Lisa Monk,Brent Myers,Darrell Nelson,Matthew E. Dupre,Matthew E. Dupre,Emil L. Fosbøl,James G. Jollis,Benjamin Strauss,Monique L Anderson,Bryan McNally,Christopher B. Granger +14 more
TL;DR: Following a statewide educational intervention on rescusitation training, the proportion of patients receiving bystander-initiated CPR and defibrillation by first responders increased and was associated with greater likelihood of survival and neurological outcome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bystander Efforts and 1-Year Outcomes in Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest.
Kristian Kragholm,Kristian Kragholm,Mads Wissenberg,Rikke Nørmark Mortensen,Steen Møller Hansen,Carolina Malta Hansen,Kristinn Thorsteinsson,Shahzleen Rajan,F. K. TL;DR: It is found that bystander CPR and defibrillation were associated with risks of brain damage or nursing home admission and of death from any cause that were significantly lower than those associated with no bystander resuscitation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acute COVID-19 and the Incidence of Ischemic Stroke and Acute Myocardial Infarction.

Journal ArticleDOI
Association of Bystander Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Survival According to Ambulance Response-times after Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest
Shahzleen Rajan,Mads Wissenberg,Fredrik Folke,Steen Møller Hansen,Thomas A. Gerds,Kristian Kragholm,Carolina Malta Hansen,Lena Karlsson,Freddy Lippert,Lars Køber,Gunnar Gislason,Christian Torp-Pedersen +11 more
TL;DR: Yet bystander CPR while waiting for an ambulance was associated with a more than doubling of 30-day survival even in case of long ambulance response time, based on the model and Danish out-of-hospital cardiac arrest statistics.
