TL;DR: In patients with high-risk cardiovascular disease, high-dose trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine, compared with standard-dose quadrivalent inactivate influenza vaccine did not significantly reduce all-cause mortality or cardiopulmonary hospitalizations.

Recognizing Influenza in Older Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Who Have Received Influenza Vaccine
TL;DR: Clinical criteria were poor predictors of LDI in these older, vaccinated patients with chronic lung disease and additional studies are warranted to define optimal methods for the diagnosis of influenza among older persons with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
