Abnormal Liver Stiffness Assessed Using Transient Elastography (Fibroscan®) in HIV-Infected Patients without HBV/HCV Coinfection Receiving Combined Antiretroviral Treatment

TL;DR: The high percentage of HIV-infected asymptomatic patients receiving cART without HBV/HCV coinfection had abnormal L SM values, and the cumulative exposure duration of boosted-PIs and γ-GT level were independent predictors which showed a negative and positive correlation with abnormal LSM values, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lethal hepatic injury by combined treatment of radiation plus chemotherapy in rats with thioacetamide-induced liver cirrhosis

TL;DR: The results in this study show that a combined treatment of RT plus chemotherapy in cirrhotic patients should be applied with extreme caution in a rat cirrhosis model with mildly impaired liver function.
Journal ArticleDOI

How to Improve Treatment Outcomes for Hepatocellular Carcinoma of Intermediate and Advanced Stage

TL;DR: An appropriate combination strategy based on baseline patient and tumor characteristics may increase the survival of patients with intermediate or advanced HCC.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antibody-Secreting Cells with a Phenotype of Ki-67low, CD138high, CD31high, and CD38high Secrete Nonspecific IgM during Primary Hepatitis A Virus Infection

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the nature of ASCs in direct ex vivo assays from patients with acute hepatitis A caused by primary infection with hepatitis A virus (HAV).
