Journal ArticleDOI
Ingestion of difructose anhydride III enhances absorption and retention of calcium in healthy men.
TL;DR: It is indicated that DFAIII ingestion enhances intestinal calcium absorption, which might be beneficial for bone metabolism, and serum osteocalcin increased after the experimental period in the DFA III group but not in the control group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hydroxycitric acid ingestion increases fat utilization during exercise in untrained women.
Kiwon Lim,Sungpil Ryu,Ho Sung Nho,Sung Keun Choi,Tae-Dong Kwon,Heajung Suh,Jaemoo So,Kyoko Tomita,Yasuhide Okuhara,Norihiro Shigematsu +9 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that HCA increases fat metabolism, which may be associated with a decrease in glycogen utilization during the same intensity exercise and enhanced exercise performance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dietary Melibiose Regulates Th Cell Response and Enhances the Induction of Oral Tolerance
Kyoko Tomita,Taizo Nagura,Yasuhide Okuhara,Haruyo Nakajima-Adachi,Norihiro Shigematsu,Tsutomu Aritsuka,Shuichi Kaminogawa,Satoshi Hachimura +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that dietary melibiose strongly affected the Th cell responses to an ingested antigen, and the potential ofmelibiose to enhance the induction of oral tolerance is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
hydroxycitrate ingestion increases fat oxidation during moderate intensity exercise in untrained men.
TL;DR: Results suggested short-term HCA ingestion increases fat oxidation in untrained men.
Patent
Difructose anhydride-containing composition and use thereof
Takuya Shiomi,Yasuhide Okuhara,Akiko Tamura,Kyoko Tomita,Norihiro Shigematsu,Hiroto Kikuchi,Tsutomu Aritsuka,Fusao Tomita +7 more
TL;DR: A cyclic disaccharide in which reducing ends of two fructose molecules are bonded respectively to hydroxyl groups other than the reducing ends each other is used in this article to promote the absorption of zinc or copper, promoting osteogenesis, promoting diuresis, improving bowel movement and preventing decay.
