CFD-modelling of natural convection in a groundwater-filled borehole heat exchanger
TL;DR: In this paper, a 3 m long borehole containing a single U-pipe with surrounding bedrock was studied by a three-dimensional, steady-state CFD model and the results showed that induced natural convective heat flow significantly decreases the thermal resistance in the borehole.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multi-injection rate thermal response test in groundwater filled borehole heat exchanger
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the effect of different heat injection rates on the thermal transport of a borehole heat exchanger (BHE) in the presence of convective heat flow.
Journal ArticleDOI
Flue gas purification and heat recovery : a biomass fired boiler supplied with an open absorption system
TL;DR: In this article, a new technique for energy recovery combined with particle separation from flue gas has been tested in a project where a conventional small boiler for biofuel produces besides heat also particles to...
Journal ArticleDOI
Energy savings in indoor swimming-pools: comparison between different heat-recovery systems
Lars Johansson,Lars Westerlund +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the energy consumption of the conventional ventilation technique in indoor swimming pools with two different heat-recovery techniques, the mechanical heat pump and the open absorption system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improved energy efficiency in sawmill drying system
TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of available state-of-the-art technologies of heat recycling on the most common drying schemes used in Swedish sawmills was investigated and compared on an hourly basis to compare the heat and electricity demand with the different technologies.
