TL;DR: IPCC Special Report on Emissions Scenarios as mentioned in this paper provides an overview of the scenario literature and the scenario driving forces, as well as a summary of the discussions and recommendations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sectoral trends and driving forces of global energy use and greenhouse gas emissions
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined global and regional historical trends in energy use and carbon emissions in the industrial, buildings, transport, and agriculture sectors, and showed that macroeconomic indicators, such as GDP, are insufficient for comprehending trends and driving forces at the sectoral level.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ghg mitigation in the transport sector
TL;DR: In this article, the potential for greenhouse gas mitigation in the transport sector to contribute to meeting the objective of the Framework Convention on Climate Change (FCCC) was explored, and the technical potential for vehicle energy intensity reductions was found to be about 25-50%, but the economic potential is much smaller.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transport sector-strategies markets, technology and innovation
TL;DR: The most fruitful way forward might be to design strategies that foster innovation in behaviour and institutions in much the same way that many governments aim to encourage innovation in technology and institutions.
