Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of 3'-azido-3'-deoxythymidine (AZT)-Cinchona alkaloid conjugates via click chemistry: Toward novel fluorescent markers and cytostatic agents
TL;DR: Novel nucleoside-Cinchona alkaloid conjugates were synthesized using 'click' chemistry approach based on the copper(I) catalyzed Huisgen azide-alkyne cycloaddition and some of them exhibited marked cytotoxic activity in vitro.
Journal ArticleDOI
Kinetic and thermodynamic effects in the thermal electrocyclic ring-openings of 3-fluorocyclobutene, 3,3-difluorocyclobutene, and 3-(trifluoromethyl)cyclobutene
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and biological activity of salinomycin conjugates with floxuridine.
Adam Huczyński,Michał Antoszczak,Natalia Kleczewska,Marta Lewandowska,Ewa Maj,Joanna Stefańska,Joanna Wietrzyk,Jan Janczak,Lech Celewicz +8 more
TL;DR: The conjugate obtained by esterification reaction showed a significantly higher antiproliferative activity against the drug-resistant cancer cells and lower toxicity than those of salinomycin and floxuridine towards normal cells, as well as standard anticancer drugs, such as cisplatin and doxorubicin.
Journal ArticleDOI
New synthesis of octafluoro[2.2]paracyclophane
TL;DR: In this article, a new synthesis of 1,1,2,9, 9, 10, 0-octafluoro[2.2]paracyclophane (2) is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phloretamide, an apple phenolic compound, activates the Nrf2/ARE pathway in human hepatocytes.
Violetta Krajka-Kuźniak,Jarosław Paluszczak,Lech Celewicz,Jan Barciszewski,Wanda Baer-Dubowska +4 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that PA has rather chemopreventive than chemiotherapeutic potential and acts similarly as apple dihydrochalcones through the induction of detoxification/antioxidative enzymes.
