Journal ArticleDOI
OCT4 staining in testicular tumors: a sensitive and specific marker for seminoma and embryonal carcinoma.
TL;DR: It is concluded that immunostaining with antibodies to OCT4 is a useful diagnostic tool in the identification of primary testicular embryonal carcinomas and “usual,” but not spermatocytic, seminomas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular genetic evidence for a common clonal origin of urinary bladder small cell carcinoma and coexisting urothelial carcinoma.
Liang Cheng,Timothy D. Jones,Ryan P. McCarthy,John N. Eble,Mingsheng Wang,Gregory T. MacLennan,Antonio Lopez-Beltran,Ximing J. Yang,Michael O. Koch,Shaobo Zhang,Chong-Xian Pan,Lee Ann Baldridge +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed histologically distinct tumor cell populations from the same patient for loss of heterozygosity (LOH) and X chromosome inactivation (in female patients) in 20 patients with small-cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder and concurrent urothelial carcinoma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nuclear Factor-κB Is Constitutively Activated in Prostate Cancer In vitro and Is Overexpressed in Prostatic Intraepithelial Neoplasia and Adenocarcinoma of the Prostate
Christopher Sweeney,Lang Li,Rajasubramaniam Shanmugam,Poornima Bhat-Nakshatri,Vetrichelvan Jayaprakasan,Lee Ann Baldridge,Thomas A. Gardner,Martin L. Smith,Harikrishna Nakshatri,Liang Cheng +9 more
TL;DR: Immunohistochemistry of human prostatectomy specimens demonstrated overexpression of the active subunit of NF-κB, p65, and that this occurs at an early stage in the genesis of prostate cancer, and this work supports the rationale for targeting NF-σκB for the prevention and/or treatment of prostatecancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thyroid transcription factor 1 expression in small cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder: an immunohistochemical profile of 44 cases.
Timothy D. Jones,Kevin M. Kernek,Ximing J. Yang,Antonio Lopez-Beltran,Gregory T. MacLennan,John N. Eble,Haiqun Lin,Chong-Xian Pan,Maria Tretiakova,Lee Ann Baldridge,Liang Cheng +10 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the immunoreactivity of this tumor to a battery of antibodies shows that TTF-1 expression in small cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder was found in 39% of the tumors, demonstrating that this marker is expressed in smallcell carcinomas other than those of pulmonary origin.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of HIV protease inhibitor ritonavir on Akt-regulated cell proliferation in breast cancer
Anjaiah Srirangam,Ranjana Mitra,Mu Wang,J. Christopher Gorski,Sunil Badve,Lee Ann Baldridge,Justin Hamilton,Hiromitsu Kishimoto,John W. Hawes,Lang Li,Christie M. Orschell,Edward F. Srour,Janice S. Blum,David B. Donner,George W. Sledge,Harikrishna Nakshatri,David Potter +16 more
TL;DR: Ritonavir inhibits breast cancer growth in part by inhibiting Hsp90 substrates, including Akt, and its efficacy may be increased by sustained exposure or HSp90 RNA interference.
