TL;DR: In this article, the role of geographical distance in partner choice in the Netherlands is explored, and it is shown that Dutch persons choose spatially homogamous partners. But the role is not limited to spatial homogamy, but also to cultural factors.

Comparison of Population Aging in Europe and Asia Using a Time-Consistent and Comparative Aging Measure.
TL;DR: This measure compares population aging in Europe and Asia using a measure that is both consistent over time and appropriate for cross-country comparison and reveals higher population aging estimates in most Asian and Eastern European countries and more diversity in aging.

Causes and consequences of regional population decline for primary schools

TL;DR: This article showed that the relatively sharp decline of the number of pupils in the next decade can be explained by a wavelike pattern in the past and projected number of learners, resulting from the baby bust of the 1960s and 1970s, and concluded that long term effects of school closures on local society are not as devastating as often perceived.

Sigma and beta convergence in regional mortality: A case study of the Netherlands
TL;DR: The application of both sigma and beta convergence tests to the study of trends in regional mortality differences for the Netherlands indicates that the disadvantage of regions with low life expectancy is not persistent.
