Journal ArticleDOI

Virulence factors of uropathogenic Escherichia coli

TL;DR: The activities of cell wall components are discussed and several exported virulence factors are described that have anti host cell activities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Expression of plasminogen activator pla of Yersinia pestis enhances bacterial attachment to the mammalian extracellular matrix.

TL;DR: A function of Pla is indicated in enhancing bacterial adhesion to extracellular matrices in Yersinia pestis and E. coli recombinant Escherichia coli.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Role of Swarm Cell Differentiation and Multicellular Migration in the Uropathogenicity of Proteus mirabilis

TL;DR: This study provides support for a role of swarming in vivo in the uropathogenic bacterium Proteus mirabilis and shows that long differentiated cells were the major cell type, whereas the extracellular inflammatory exudate contained primarily short vegetative cells.
