Gene Dosage–Dependent Embryonic Development and Proliferation Defects in Mice Lacking the Transcriptional Integrator p300
Tso-Pang Yao,Suk P. Oh,Miriam Fuchs,Nai Dong Zhou,Lian Ee Ch'ng,D. Newsome,Roderick T. Bronson,En Li,David M. Livingston,Richard Eckner,Richard Eckner +10 more
TL;DR: Mouse development is exquisitely sensitive to the overall gene dosage of p300 and cbp, providing genetic evidence that a coactivator endowed with histone acetyltransferase activity is essential for mammalian cell proliferation and development.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gene dose-dependent control of hematopoiesis and hematologic tumor suppression by CBP
Andrew L. Kung,Vivienne I. Rebel,Roderick T. Bronson,Lian Ee Ch'ng,Colin A. Sieff,David M. Livingston,Tso-Pang Yao +6 more
TL;DR: A full complement of CBP, but not p300, is required for normal hematopoietic differentiation in wild-type or p300 heterozygous null mice of the same age and genetic background, providing the first experimental evidence for the hypothesis that CBP has tumor-suppressing activity.
