Scratching of copper with rough surfaces conducted by diamond tip simulated using molecular dynamics

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored the key material removal mechanism by means of the observed variation of material removal under different surface roughnesses, tool speeds, scratching directions, tip shapes, feeds, double tip, and single tip.
Journal ArticleDOI

A unified method for characterizing multiple lubrication regimes involving plastic deformation of surface asperities

TL;DR: In this article, a unified method for characterizing the hydrodynamic, mixed and boundary lubrication regimes in cold strip rolling is presented, which involves random surface asperities, multi-scale plastic deformation of both the asperity and workpiece, and a statistical modeling of an equivalent interface between the lubricated surfaces in contact sliding.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel multi-scale statistical characterization of interface pressure and friction in metal strip rolling

TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-scale method was proposed to investigate the interface pressure and friction in a 3D model of cold strip rolling, where an equivalent interfacial layer was introduced to integrate the effect of lubricant with surface asperity deformation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Ni nanoparticles addition on the microstructure, electrical and mechanical properties of Sn-Ag-Cu alloy

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of Ni nanoparticles addition on the microstructure, electrical resistivity and mechanical properties such as elastic/shear moduli, microhardness and creep of Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu (SAC305) electronic interconnect materials have been investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Carbon nanotube reinforced ceramic composites and their performance.

TL;DR: This paper reviews the reported techniques for the preparation of various ceramic coated CNTs, C NT-ceramic composites, CNT-cer ceramic composite coatings, etc and reveals that considerable improvements in electrical/thermal properties can be achieved.
