Residual stress induced atomic scale buckling of diamond carbon coatings on silicon substrate

TL;DR: In this article, the atomic scale buckling of diamond carbon coatings on silicon substrate caused by residual stresses in two orthogonal directions was investigated and it was found that different buckling patterns occurred when the ratio of the residual stresses were changed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stress-induced phase and structural changes in KDP crystals

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored some possible phase transformations in monocrystalline tetragonal KDP under uniaxial, biaaxial and triaxial compressive/tensile stresses externally applied through the use of ab initio Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Determining the Complete Residual Stress Tensors in SOS Hetero-Epitaxial Thin Film Systems by the Technique of X-Ray Diffraction

TL;DR: In this article, the residual stress of epitaxial silicon film on SOS thin film systems was investigated using multiple asymmetric X-ray diffraction method to measure strains in 13 [hkl] directions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of mechanical properties and failure of potassium dihydrogen phosphate under mechanical stressing

TL;DR: In this article, the complete set of mechanical constants of KDP and its failure mechanisms were determined, and it was found that the atomic structure greatly influences its anisotropy and leads to distinguished failure mechanisms in different lattice orientations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Low concentrations of NaHSO3 increase photosynthesis, biomass, and attenuate photoinhibition in Satsuma mandarin (Citrus unshiu Marc.) plants

TL;DR: In this article, low-concentrated NaHSO3 solutions were applied to Satsuma mandarin (Citrus unshiu Marc) leaves for 6 d. The potential photochemical efficiency of photosystem 2 (PS2, Fv/Fm) and the quantum yield of PS2 electron transport (ΦPS2) were increased.
