TL;DR: The discovery of MK-8245 is found, a potent, liver-targeted SCD inhibitor with preclinical antidiabetic and antidyslipidemic efficacy with a significantly improved therapeutic window.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thiazole analog as stearoyl-CoA desaturase 1 inhibitor.
Chun Sing Li,Liette Belair,Jocelyne Guay,Renata Murgasva,Wayne Sturkenboom,Yeeman K. Ramtohul,Lei Zhang,Zheng Huang +7 more
TL;DR: A prototype thiazole amide analog 13 (MF-152) was identified as an excellent tool in the study of SCD biology in animals and may represent a novel treatment for obesity, type-2 diabetes and related metabolic disorders.
