TL;DR: Results demonstrated that the coupled USS + EPC scenario and its combinations with agricultural spreading of N-rich effluent and nitritation/anaerobic deammonification could present an energy-positive balance with respectively 27% and 33% lower energy requirements and an increase in biogas production of 23%, compared to the reference scenario.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term prediction of the leaching behavior of pollutants from solidified wastes
TL;DR: A methodology based on three experimental tests and a behavioral model was developed for the assessment of inorganic contaminant release from cement-based waste materials placed in an "immersed scenario" as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Environmental impact and risk assessment of mineral wastes reuse strategies : Review and critical analysis of approaches and applications
TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide a detailed analysis and comparison of global and local scale impact assessment methods used in LCA and EcoRA, and finally an inventory of LCA studies already completed, to serve as a basis for further research.
Journal ArticleDOI
Integrated earth system dynamic modeling for life cycle impact assessment of ecosystem services.
TL;DR: The feasibility of using an integrated earth system dynamic modeling perspective to retrieve time- and scenario-dependent CFs that consider the complex interlinkages between natural processes delivering ES is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Life Cycle Assessment of water treatment: what is the contribution of infrastructure and operation at unit process level?
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide a consistent and up-to-date assessment based on detailed operation and infrastructure design data at unit process level for two complex drinking water production systems located in France.
