Integrated process of lignocellulosic biomass torrefaction and pyrolysis for upgrading bio-oil production: A state-of-the-art review

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of torrefaction on biomass characteristics and subsequent pyrolysis is reviewed to further elucidate the integrated process and future directions and technological challenges are proposed and its economic potential is also evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI

A review on selective production of value-added chemicals via catalytic pyrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass

TL;DR: Recent progress about producing value-added hydrocarbons, phenols, anhydrosugars, and nitrogen-containing compounds from catalytic pyrolysis of biomass over zeolites, metal oxides, etc via different reaction pathways including cracking, Diels-Alder/aromatization, ketonization/aldol condensation, and ammoniation are introduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Catalytic fast pyrolysis of torrefied corn cob to aromatic hydrocarbons over Ni-modified hierarchical ZSM-5 catalyst.

TL;DR: Kinetic analysis shows that CFP of torrefied corn cob was second-order reaction and the addition of Ni can obtain a lower activation energy compared with hierarchical ZSM-5 catalyst.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of torrefaction pretreatment on corncobs: A study on fundamental characteristics, thermal behavior, and kinetic.

TL;DR: Kinetic parameters obtained from three models indicated that both the activation energy and the pre-exponential factor increased with the elevated torrefaction temperature and it was found that the optimum pretreatment temperature of corncobs was 240 °C.
