Sleep-related hyperkinetic seizures: always a frontal onset?
Roberto Mai,Ivana Sartori,Stefano Francione,Laura Tassi,Laura Castana,Francesco Cardinale,Massimo Cossu,Alberto Citterio,Nadia Colombo,G. Lo Russo,Lino Nobili +10 more
TL;DR: Patients with sleep-related hyperkinetic epileptic seizures with temporal lobe origin had anamnestic and clinical features strikingly similar to those with a frontal onset, with agitated movements, high seizure frequency and no history of febrile convulsions.
Hippocampal sleep spindles preceding neocortical sleep onset in humans: an intracerebral EEG study
Simone Sarasso,Paola Proserpio,Fabio Moroni,Mauro Ferrara,Luigi De Gennaro,Andrea Pigorini,Marcello Massimini,Lino Nobili +7 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Coupling of minor motor events and epileptiform discharges with arousal fluctuations in NFLE
Michele Terzaghi,Ivana Sartori,Roberto Mai,Laura Tassi,Stefano Francione,Francesco Cardinale,Laura Castana,Massimo Cossu,Giorgio LoRusso,Raffaele Manni,Lino Nobili +10 more
TL;DR: A methodical neurophysiolgical investigation set out to investigate whether, and how, the arousal mechanism, monitored through visual scoring of the cyclic alternating pattern, modulates the expression of MMEs and EDs.
Journal ArticleDOI
EAN/ERS/ESO/ESRS statement on the impact of sleep disorders on risk and outcome of stroke.
Claudio L. Bassetti,Winfried Randerath,Luca Vignatelli,Luigi Ferini-Strambi,Anne-Kathrin Brill,Maria R. Bonsignore,Ludger Grote,Poul Jennum,Didier Leys,Jens Minnerup,Lino Nobili,Thomy Tonia,Rebecca L. Morgan,Joel Kerry,Renata L. Riha,Walter T. McNicholas,Vasileios Papavasileiou +16 more
TL;DR: The evidence base is best for OSA relationship with stroke and supports active diagnosis and therapy, and the pathophysiological base of the associations and the possibilities of improving prevention and outcome through sleep-related interventions require further evaluation.
Journal Article
Intra‐lesional stereo‐EEG activity in Taylor’s focal cortical dysplasia
TL;DR: Electrical peculiarities suggest a high level of epileptogenicity of Taylor's focal cortical dysplasia and could possibly explain the high percentage of post-surgical success among patients with this kind of lesion.
