Journal ArticleDOI

Focal cortical dysplasia: neuropathological subtypes, EEG, neuroimaging and surgical outcome.

TL;DR: A simplified classification of focal cortical dysplasias based on easily recognized histopathological characteristics and avoids complicated terminology is proposed, while the distinctive ensemble of other characteristics defines clinically homogeneous groups.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stereoelectroencephalography: surgical methodology, safety, and stereotactic application accuracy in 500 procedures.

TL;DR: Searoelectroencephalography is a safe and accurate procedure for the invasive assessment of the epileptogenic zone and in vivo application accuracy in a consecutive series of 500 procedures with a total of 6496 implanted electrodes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stereoelectroencephalography in the presurgical evaluation of focal epilepsy: a retrospective analysis of 215 procedures.

TL;DR: SEEG is a useful and relatively safe tool in the evaluation of surgical candidates when noninvasive investigations fail to localize the epileptogenic zone and SEEG-based resective surgery may provide excellent results in particularly complex drug-resistant epilepsies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidant activity of gamma-oryzanol: Mechanism of action and its effect on oxidative stability of pharmaceutical oils

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that gamma-oryzanol is an organic radical scavenger able to prevent AMVN-triggered lipoperoxidation and may have a potential application for the stabilization of lipidic raw materials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Formulation and in vivo evaluation of chlorhexidine buccal tablets prepared using drug-loaded chitosan microspheres.

TL;DR: The determination of chlorhexidine in saliva showed the capacity of these formulations to give a prolonged release of the drug in the buccal cavity and the improvement is particularly high against Candida albicans.
