Supernova 1987A: A Young Supernova Remnant in an Aspherical Progenitor Wind
Bryan Gaensler,Richard N. Manchester,Lister Staveley-Smith,V. C. Wheaton,Anastasios Tzioumis,John Reynolds,Michael Kesteven +6 more
TL;DR: The interaction between the ejecta from Supernova 1987A and surrounding material is producing steadily brightening radio and X-ray emission, while the new-born supernova remnant has been significantly decelerated by this interaction, while its morphology reflects the axisymmetric nature of the progenitor wind as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Very Deep Inside the SN 1987A Core Ejecta: Molecular Structures Seen in 3D
F. J. Abellan,Remy Indebetouw,Remy Indebetouw,J. M. Marcaide,Michael Gabler,Claes Fransson,Jason Spyromilio,David N. Burrows,Roger A. Chevalier,Phil Cigan,Bryan Gaensler,Haley Louise Gomez,H.-Th. Wheeler,Stanford E Woosley +25 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) was used to study the innermost regions of a core-collapse supernova.

The Column Density Distribution Function at z=0 from HI Selected Galaxies
TL;DR: In this paper, the column density distribution function, f(N), at z=0 using 21-cm HI emission from galaxies selected from a blind HI survey was measured. And the authors concluded that a large range of galaxy types give rise to DLA systems.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radio Observations of Supernova 1987A
TL;DR: In this article, the authors review extensive observations made with the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) at centimetre wavelengths and find that up to 4% of the electrons encountered by the outer shock are accelerated to relativistic energies.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
The ALFA Ultra Deep Survey (AUDS)
Wolfram Freudling,Barbara Catinella,M. R. Calabretta,Emmanuel Momjian,Martin Zwaan,S. Linder,Robert F. Minchin,Karen O'Neil,Lister Staveley-Smith,Auds team +9 more
TL;DR: The ALFA Ultra Deep Survey (AUDS) as mentioned in this paper is the most sensitive 21cm line survey to be conducted with the new Arecibo 300 MHz spectrometer, which will search for 21cm HI line emission at redshifts between 0 and 0.16 with an unprecedented sensitivity.
