Journal ArticleDOI
Four evolutionary trajectories underlie genetic intratumoral variation in childhood cancer
Jenny Karlsson,Anders Valind,Linda Holmquist Mengelbier,Sofia Bredin,Louise Cornmark,Caroline Jansson,Amina Wali,Johan Staaf,Björn Viklund,Ingrid Øra,Anna Börjesson,Torbjörn Backman,Noémie Braekeveldt,Bengt Sandstedt,Niklas Pal,Anders Isaksson,Barbara Gürtl Lackner,Tord Jonson,Daniel Bexell,David Gisselsson +19 more
TL;DR: Multiregional analysis in 54 childhood cancers highlights four evolutionary patterns of intratumoral variation, suggesting that tumors follow different evolutionary strategies concurrently.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic profiling of a chondroblastoma-like osteosarcoma/malignant phosphaturic mesenchymal tumor of bone reveals a homozygous deletion of CDKN2A, intragenic deletion of DMD, and a targetable FN1-FGFR1 gene fusion
Karim H. Saba,Louise Cornmark,Marianne Rissler,Thoas Fioretos,Kristina Åström,Kristina Åström,Felix Haglund,Felix Haglund,Andrew E. Rosenberg,Otte Brosjö,Karolin Hansén Nord +10 more
TL;DR: By in‐depth genetic analyses of a chondroblastoma‐like osteosarcoma, the present case represents an FN1‐FGFR1 positive malignant phosphaturic mesenchymal tumor of bone without osteomalacia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of a novel protein kinase Cδ-Smac complex that dissociates during paclitaxel-induced cell death.
Katarzyna Chmielarska Masoumi,Louise Cornmark,Gry Kalstad Lønne,Ulf Hellman,Christer Larsson +4 more
TL;DR: XIAP physically interacts with SMAC by anti tag coimmunoprecipitation (View interaction) and prevents SMAC from recognizing XIAP as a “tag” and repressing it with its own “ tags”.
Journal ArticleDOI
Loss of NF2 defines a genetic subgroup of non‐FOS‐rearranged osteoblastoma
Karim H. Saba,Louise Cornmark,Jakob Hofvander,Linda Magnusson,Jenny Nilsson,Hilda van den Bos,Diana C.J. Spierings,Floris Foijer,Johan Staaf,Otte Brosjö,Vaiyapuri Sumathi,Suk Wai Lam,Karoly Szuhai,Judith V.M.G. Bovée,Michal Kovac,Daniel Baumhoer,Emelie Styring,Karolin Hansén Nord +17 more
TL;DR: It is shown that NF2 loss characterises a subgroup of osteoblastomas, distinct from FOS‐rearranged cases, which are involved in regulating bone homeostasis, thereby providing a mechanistic link to the excessive bone growth of osteOBlastoma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protein kinase Cα suppresses the expression of STC1 in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells.
TL;DR: Global gene expression was analyzed in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells in which PKCα, PKCδ or PKCε had been down-regulated with siRNA and showed that hypoxia-induced genes were enriched among genes that increased in PKC α-down-regulated cells.
